The Maya town of Iximche' features many stone ruins of buildings that made up the capital of the Late Postclassic Kaqchikel Maya kingdom from 1470 until its abandonment in 1524. The site includes many former pyramids and ball courts

The site of Iximche' is gorgeous - the high elevation makes the climate cool and lush with trees.

The area beyond the trees is a Maya Holy site where Maya conduct sacred blessings and rituals to this day.
