Doingworld Resorts is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Mort Doing Corporation. On a cool Southern California evening back in 1987, the idea for a new type of resort was dreamed up. The desire: to build a hotel and marina that would be unparalleled. Condé Nast would be knocking down the door trying to get a room. As a result, Club Josh was born. A site in the South Pacific was selected and plans for construction began. By 1990, the resort plans were drawing rave reviews all over the world and was listed on several 10 best future resort lists.

In 1991, the Mort Doing Corporation first proposed the first phase of the Doingworld theme park, and the massive rehabilitation of the Club Josh island. This modest proposal laid the ground work for the future. In the ensuing years, the Doingworld concept would spread to Spain and California with each resort combining familiar Doingworld attractions with unique experiences.
