v23: New Server
A lot has changed in the last year - most notable where club josh is hosted. Some of the things missing - Club House photos (old family, parties, and wedding pics) and a few things here and there. I have added Gorn photos from Hong Kong and Australia as well as posted some items on Flickr. Since I do have the Daily Update, I use this page less and less. I will try and go back through it and see if I can pull some dates and post stuff here. I still want to put this whole thing In MT - or atleast start from this version forward. Then again, I have wanted that for several years now (time flies **sigh**)

v22.2: Gorn Back in Japan
25 new photos of the Gorn! For the first time in the same calendar year, I visited the same place twice. It has created havoc with my naming system for photo galleries, but I was able to overcome. Not many other changes on the site other than removing the form to post comments. Sadly, I am still getting spammed so it looks like I have no choice but to install MT 3.1. I am going to try and do it asap!

v22.0: Search Changes and Minor Tweaks
A couple of weeks ago I started changing out Atomz search for Google search on the site. It has its plusses and minuses but basically Atomz was only able to index a fraction of the site. Google has the whole enchilada, but might have some lag time if I start changing things around. I also started tweaking the Daily Update template. I am re-learning the ins and outs of the MT code so I can start work on the MT-powered What's New section. I was a bit worried with the launch of MT 3.0 I wasn't going to be able to do it, but it looks like I will.

It took me a week just to get them on the site, but there they are. I still need to add captions to the photos so that they make sense, but that will come in the next few weeks or so. I still am working on transcribing my journal and a gallery for all the non-Disney Japan pics.

v21.7: So Long Web Side Story
Apparently, Hitbox.com decided to discontinue their free web stats tool. According to their site, they sent out emails, but since I have been with them since August 27, 1997, I am sure they sent it to the wrong address. Bad News? Five years of data is down the drain. I'm not sad because it was something neat to look at, but I never followed it closely. Also, since I started Clubjosh.com in 1999 I have had server stats anyways. The good news is that my main issue with migrating all the photos to gallery has been resolved. I no longer need to worry about stats tracking. I have managed to remove all of those annoying casino banners with the exception of some of the old Gorn and Party photo galleries. Since I will be migrating, I decided not to sit here and go through each gallery. Of course If I am surfing on the site I will be sure to remove it when I see it. I also managed to quickly update my Jarre collection. Man, that section needs some TLC!!

v21.6: Gorn in New York
In record time, I have posted the 22 new pictures of the Gorn from his recent trip to New York - we just got back yesterday! The new Gallery program (and the day off) have really helped me crank out the pictures in record time. I also put the Celebrity pictures into the Gallery program. I did a really bad fix with the old celebrity page by just including the main gallery page for it. I wanted to be able to track the clicks to the index page only, and it was the best I could come up with on short notice. Some hand holding will be required in the future, but in the meantime there it is.

v21.5: Gorn at Walt Disney World
I finally pulled out the 11 photos from the WDW 2003 Trip Diary site to the Gorn Page. I also added as a bonus a couple of scanned photos from Tower of Terror and Splash Mountain bringing the total to 13 new photos. I figured it was the least I could do for all of those people visiting the site for the first time from the links that were posted on Oct 15 to Presurfer and MilkandCookies.com (for the links, check out the Gorn links page.)

v21.4: New Walt Disney World Pics
I added 600+ photos from my recent trip to the Walt Disney World resort. I am still working on the captions, but in the meantime, take a gander. I really was happy with the photos I took and realize there was so much more to take. I think these photos offer a better view of the resort than the ones from 2000. They are also a nice companion to the Disneyland Paris photos. I need to get crackin' on some Disneyland photos to round out the section.

v21.3: Four Corners and Monument Valley pics
32 New photos of the Gorn at Four Corners and Monument Valley. These photos were taken with my new Canon PowerShot S400 Digital Camera. The photos are amazing and HUGE! I have scaled them down to the web standard 600 width. I know it is small compared to the 2100 width they are originally, but it helps to save on web space. If anyone is interested in the hi-res photos drop me a line. I'm glad that I have the new camera and will be printing some cool photos off. I also neglected to post the update for the new Gorn Europe Galleries courtesy of the Gallery program. I am going to eventually port over all of the older photos to give me more flexibility.

v21.2: Return of Family Photos
Created a new gallery of classic Josh and the Family photos. This is the first time since August 8, 2000 (v. 16.1) that photos like these are on the site. I will have to see if I can find some of the old Friends and Family photos and post them. One of my goals is to have a picture of me for every year along with a brief quip about something from that year. Just another in a long line of projects for the site.

Posted 61 pictures of the festivities in Sausalito. Man, that Gallery program is so nifty. It had been a long time since I had messed with it so I had to reset the passwords. Looking at the previous entry, it's obvious I have some work to do with porting the galleries over. I think the impeding redesign will get things rolling.

v21.0: 12th Annual A-V Day pictures are here!!
Posted pictures from the first ever traveling Anti-Valentine's Day party. This year we set off for Vegas and toured the Boulevard as well as visited the 24th century. Beside darts, we also had the Bitter Bowl which was a lot of fun. The idea of taking the party on the road is so popular that we are thinking Hawaii next year. Now we just need a lighter dart board. These pictures also mark the debut of the new Gallery for the Club House section. Over the course of the next few weeks I will port over all of the old galleries into this new format. yeah I know it's busy work, but it helps keep me sane.

v20.9: Charo Site Update
Added a news archive page to the Charo section so that the site has a place other than the latest updates section of the homepage. This way the section does not make the page scroll all the way down. I also replaced the links to the now defunct Charo Party Pictures page to the News Archive page. It is still hard to believe that the whole Charo section started out as a place to put my party pictures, and now it is a fan site. If you still managed to hit the Charo Party Pics page, there is a link to the Club House.

v20.8: Disneyland Paris Photos
I've finally added the new Disneyland Paris photos from my recent Europe trip. I combined them with photos from Scott and Debbie's January 2002 trip and some of my classic photos from 1996 to create an archive of almost 300 total pictures. In addition, I was able to integrate the new Gallery program into the existing structure of the DL Paris site. I solved the navigation problems as well by creating a new version of Gallery for this section alone. I will also do this with the Gorn pictures so expect them to move around a bit. I am going to remove the old Disneyland Paris pages and try and reduce the size of my site which is currently over 200 MB!

v20.7: Gorn Europe 2002 Pics
34 Pictures of the Gorn in Europe have been posted in what must be record time for Gorn pics. Thanks to the new Gallery program, I was able to upload the photos and create the galleries online. The only drawback to this system is that all the photos are stored in their original size on the server and that can add up fast. I might need to be choosy about what photos make it up for the Trip Diaries. I am still not happy with the navigation in the galleries (i.e. no easy way to put a link back to the Trip Diaries or Gorn pages) so for now I'll just have to rely on people using the back button.

v20.6: Night of 100 Stars
Posted the pictures from Night of 100 Stars, almost completing the section. I still need to finish the chronology, but for the most part it is done. I still wish I had a better way to post the photos, like from Movable Type so people can comment on the photos and such. Perhaps I'll get it figured out in time for Anti-Valentine's Day or even the forthcoming Europe Trip.

v20.5: Daily Update into Movable Type
A whole new CMS is launched as I finally finished migrating the archives into Movable Type. I still am not 100% happy with the result, but I think it is good enough to go. I will be able to tweak it here and there over time and I can easily change the look and feel of it on a whim! (Sometimes I wish the whole website was in a CMS!!). The next step is to get the PDA and Cell Phone versions of the site to run off of the files.

v20.4: Gorn Palm Springs
Added 16 new pictures of the Gorn in Palm Springs. I guess I never put that I added two pictures of the Gorn in Hollywood and Santa Monica, so consider yourself notified. I also tweaked some of the Gorn page fonts. I also update the Gorn Europe Index so it looks like the other index pages. Each time I look at the section, I see so much that needs to be cleaned up. v20.3: Trip Diaries Homepage and othe misc updates
I updated the index for the Trip Diaries page to add a bit of pizzazz to it. Nothing major - Just some photos to go with the titles and moved things around a bit. I also added some of my favorite quotes from each trip. I am still not 100% happy with it, and I will continue to search for some inspiration for that section. I updated the Sweden Diary to include bigger pics on all of the sections as well as added some long-overdue captions to Chapter 5. Since I did those, I figured I'd dig out the notes and finish the French Polynesia Chapter 5 descriptions as well. One of these days I will get a whole new look to it.

v20.2: Club House is here!
After many months of promising, the new Club House section is here. It certainly is more different than when I first started. Basically, I have put all of the party pictures in this section and have already moved them on the server. It will take awhile for all of the bad links in the search engines to die out, but I am not really that concerned with the traffic going to those pages, so I won't bother with redirects. The new section is missing the famous Josh Favorites section for now, but over time, I think I will eventually redo it. Now all I need to do is finish a friends section and it will be complete.

v20.0: Charo Home Page Quickie
In a fit of energy in the middle of doing something else, I decided to redo the Charo home page to match the Gorn and Trip Diary pages and make the background white and add the header. This style is what I am trying to convert all of the sub-homepages of the site to. I think it is an efficient and clean way to get to the meat and potatoes of the sections. I just need to get the Jarre page into alignment and finish the Club House and it will be pretty much done.

v19.8: Around the World in 29 Years Photos
Photos from my 29th Birthday party are posted. Why are they in the Charo section? It is a long story, but basically Charo appeared on the site because she was the theme of one of my birthday parties. So all the other party pics just went there. It probably would make sense to move them to some other section. Maybe I will bring back my friends and family page and put them there. v19.7: New Homepage
The 11th version of the home page has arrived. After much brainstorming and work over the past few weeks, i have chosen this new homepage. My main reason is to explain more the different sections so people can find stuff better. Of course, that meant losing the direct links to the different sub pages, but some of them, like the Trip Diaries were getting huge. The condensing of the Daily Update to one entry will also let me automatically update my VXML site that I have been lacking.

I redesigned the Charo photo page to match the rest of the redesigned Charo site. I also added some new photos from Dave Michaels. Finally added the Gorn pictures from Chicago and a quick jaunt to the La Brea Tar Pits here in LA. The Gorn had been to both places before, but I never scanned the old ones and Joe has the La Brea Tar Pits pictures from 1999 and since he just moved to Sweden, I don't think I will be getting them anytime soon.

v19.4: Charo has expanded!
Charo's section of the site has been expanded and restyled to include a filmography and discography. I also formatted it similar to the Gorn page. I didn't quite get around to re-doing the concert pics page, but I decided to go ahead and put up the info that I had. I have some more groovy pics of Charo to add to that section and I need to change it to that heartwarming orange.

Added a few pictures of the Gorn at the Grand Canyon. I need to watch National Lampoon's Vacation again to see if the place I took the pictures at was the same as the movie. I also prepared for the arrival of the Tahiti and Bora Bora pictures by creating a new section of the Gorn site that combines Hawaii and the South Pacific.

v19.0: TellMe and CCS update
I added a whole new way to hear the Daily Update. Just call 1-800-555-TELL (8355). At the menu prompt dial in 1-12138. Then enjoy. I also did a quick link check and update to the Cyber Surfin' Safari. The most important update was the addition of some bookmark links that I had in my browser that were not up on the site.

v18.9: Minor cleanup
I did some link cleanup on the site today. In the Trip Diaries section, I noticed that the link to the Diaries index page for 1996 and 1997 were pointing to the wrong place. I also decided to add a link to the Gorn pictures for the corresponding years. In Jarrepalooza, I fixed the link to the Ultra Fancy Jarre list so that it no longer opens in a window. I intend to fix up that page and eliminate the text listing in the near future. Traffic to Club Josh continues to skyrocket. Who knew that the Charo pictures would be the #1 section. I guess people are no longer interested in 5 year old pictures of Disneyland Paris (though it continues to get some decent numbers) Guess I need to go back soon. I also fixed some of the redirects on the old JPS site so that they no longer auto-forward. Those pages expire on 6-17-01 so if you are still bookmarking them, now is the time to update the links.

v18.8: PDA section expanded
Instead of just one link on the homepage and a few others scattered about, Club Josh users can now select which channel they want for their PDAs. The main download is becoming so huge that older PDA's can't hold the whole thing. Those of you with 8MB Visors or Pocket PCs can still get the whole thing.

v18.5: Massive Photo Update!
It turns out it was a busy weekend! I scanned 71 new photos for the site. 51 Gorn Photos - 43 North America and 8 Europe 1996 photos are added to the collection. I also added some pictures for some of my earlier birthday parties. It was fun going back through the archives. I will probably tweak the galleries here and there, but it is a major accomplishment to get all this stuff up.

v18.1: New Gorn Home Page and Celebrity section
Finished a makeover for the homepage of the Gorn section. First major re-do since 4-28-98 (v. 13.2). I also added a separate gallery for the celebrity pictures. I left them in the North America section, just in case someone who is used to them being there went to look. Eventually, I will spread the redesign to the sub-pages, but they still work with the homepage and I ran out of time. This weekend will mark the first time I will have a chance to re-scan some old photos so with any luck, Monday will see the launch of many, many more photos. (I'd launch on Sunday, bt with no DSL, no way.) So on my list to scan is the stuff from the previous update and the current one. Hmm. Might be a busy weekend!!

v18.0: New Gorn Gallery
Finally added gallery for 1999 Europe pics from Sweden. I noticed that the sizes of the photos are painfully small compared to the ones from WDW and other places. Looking back, it was the first time I used the Photoshop gallery function. I think I will go back and resize all the photos. the good part is that I do not have to update any of the HTML since Photoshop does not include the height and width tags (a mixed blessing really). I also added a Yellow 26 index page with the t-shirt logo from that party. I am hoping to scan some photos from that party and the 1999 AV Days to fill in the gaps. I also think I am going to launch a redesign of the Gorn page and also the addition of tons of new photos. Of course with no DSL, it could be a lengthy process!

v17.9: New Gorn pics
Added a pic of the Gorn with the Swedish music group The A*Teens on Wed. 2-28-01. They were kind enough to pose for a picture at their autograph session at the Glendale Galleria. Also, I finally created a separate photo gallery for the Gorn pictures from Walt Disney World. I have been meaning to do it for awhile, but finally did it. I also have implemented a log referral program to track the traffic to a few key pages. I want to compare it with the data from the Web Side Story tracker to see how accurate it is. According to them, Club Josh received 5,000 hits for the month of February - a new record! We also measured an average of 103 unique visitors a day. Pretty amazing. In an effort to boost traffic more, I am working on optimizing my site a bit more and adding more text to the Charo and Gorn index pages. Today on Google I searched for "gorn" and my site came up #3 - AND the number 1 site has a link to my Gorn page.

v17.8: New Party Pics section and AV Day pics
I put up the pictures from the 10th Annual AV Day. At the same time, I gave the Party Pictures section of Charo's Party Pics a makeover. I split out AV Day and my birthday parties. One thing I noticed is that I am woefully missing older parties including the granddaddy of them all Cuchi Cuchi Hawaiian Style. With all that free time I have, I should scan some more and post them. Just don't go holding your breath :)

Added some pictures of DCA from the annual passport preview in the Trip Diaries page. It won't be available in the site search until next Saturday. I have also been cleaning up the robots file to reduce the pages that are indexed by search engines. Hopefully it will lead to better results.

I changed the copyrights on most of the pages to 2001. I left the copyrights on the trip diaries the same, I think I will update them as needed. I also renamed the Gorn Page from Gorn Page 2000 to Gorn Page 2001. The Home Page also got re-named to Club Josh 2001. I also put up the first redesign of the SeaGranite site. Basically cleaned it up a tad.

v17.1: The new What's New section is here!!
Hopefully, this will help you find out the latest goings-ons for the different versions easier. It will also allow me to add What's new sections to the different sites. In other news, I added META tags to Jarrepalooza so it will be indexed better on the search engines. It looks like sites like Google are focusing on the Trip Diaries and ignoring the other sections. Hopefully some tweaking here and there will help.
